Thanks to her precise tunnel hull design and other performance enhancements, the Hatteras 50 Convertible attains attains high speeds without sacrificing her soft ride or rock-solid hull. Captains will appreciate the clear visibility from the helm. The view of the bow is unobstructed, and the entire aft cockpit remains in view even from a seated position. The extended cockpit overhang provides crew with plenty of protection from the sun and gives the captain room to work behind the standard Murray Products helm chairs. On the helm console, a recessed box houses a standard suite of electronics that includes VHF, autopilot, depth sounder and chart plotter. Twin bench seats provide seating for guests and copious rod storage, and a top-loading insulated drink box keeps the captain happy. The 135-square-foot cockpit features a bait and tackle center as well as a top-loading bait freezer and sink. An 80-inch fish box with macerator pump will keep the catch on ice, and quick-connect saltwater and freshwater washdown ease the cleanup. Four rod holders, dry storage in the salon step, a transom door and a stainless-steel plate for mounting a fighting chair all come standard. Inside, dimmable lighting will create the appropriate mood, whether entertaining guests in the fully equipped galley or watching a movie on the standard entertainment center with surround-sound quality audio and CD/DVD. The standard arrangement on the 50 Convertible calls for three staterooms and two heads. The master features a queen-size berth with private head just forward. The aft bulkhead is finished in a plexi-mirror for an airy feel and includes a 20-inch LCD television with 6-disk CD/DVD player. A second queen berth in the bow provides plenty of room for guests. Both berths lift on pneumatic rams to reveal cedar-lined storage, and several additional drawers and cedar-lined lockers will hold enough gear for an extended stay aboard.
